Power Lines Disrupt Cattle and Deer
Extremely Low Frequency Electromagnetic Fields (ELFMFs) created by power lines disrupt magnetic alignment is cattle and deer.

Cattle and deer align their bodies North to South when they lie down to rest.

ELFMFs disrupt their alignment.  This shows that the ELFMFs have an effect on molecular levels and behavior!

Power Lines Electrocute Birds

175 MILLION birds are killed EACH YEAR by power transmission and distribution lines.
40,000 birds are killed by 15,000 wind turbines each year.
Dead Ostriches on a farm in West Texas that "mysteriously" died near a Wind Farm. Notice that one man is wearing a suit to protect him from Hazardous Materials. There is another dead ostrich to the left of the men.
The Texas Hill Country is home to many fowl, including: wild Turkeys, Bald Eagles, Mexican Eagles, Heron, English Callers, Owls, Buzzards, Cardinals and other species.  The LCRA proposed project will be detrimental to the reproduction and survival of these species for a couple of reasons.

LCRA will DESTROY habitats.  We saw this first hand when driving down our fenceline near a right of way for the Hilliard line being constructed on FM 385.  A Turkey hen was standing at the fence staring at the barren wasteland that was cleared and mulched to accommodate the new line.  It struck us that if she were to walk across the cedar mulch strewn over the land, the oil from the mulch would prevent her eggs from hatching.

LCRA is killing off wild turkeys.  Oil cannot come into contact with incubating eggs.  All eggs are porous and and the oil will kill the embryo when it comes into contact with the egg.

LCRA hasn't studied the damages it will cause.  All fowl depend on bugs, fish and other life around and in the creeks to survive.  Cedar oil is a known herbicide and pesticide that can kill off such life.  LCRA has not done any studies on the effects of cedar oil on our creeks!  When questioned about doing such studies, an LCRA representative told us that such studies will not be conducted until AFTER the construction has STARTED!

Homeowners in Austin are not allowed to clear land or to build homes in certain areas because of the endangered Warbler and Spotted Owl.  How can LCRA and Hilliard Company not be regulated simply because they are private organizations?  Who governs their activities?  Who is protecting the interests of Bald Eagles and other endangered species?
