New Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMF)

What is coming to the Texas Hill Country...
Electricity Causes Sickness

Government and Power Companies tell people that there is nothing to worry about because there are no "conclusive" studies on the effects of Powerlines on our health.

How CONVENIENT that in many years of studies there are no "conclusive" answers.  Why does the World Health Organization state that there "could be" a risk?

Dr. David O. Carpenter's article "Setting Prudent Public Health Policy for Electromagnetic Field Exposures" explores the fallacies of government studies with some very interesting conclusions.  Click on the Article title to take a look!

Studies link Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs) to Illness

Wind Turbines Make People Sick!

  • Sound waves drive people crazy - similar to Chinese water torture.
  • Low frequency waves (ones we can't hear) cause our bodies and organs to vibrate.  This causes damage to our bodies.
  • "Dirty Electricity" created by the turbines can travel along the ground (stray voltage) and hurt people and animals.
  • "Dirty Electricty" can damage equipment (the power companies are trying to figure this one out).
  • The International Institute for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified extremely low frequency (ELF) magnetic fields as "possibly carcinogenic to humans".

Extremely Low Frequency Fields Are DANGEROUS

The World Health Organization (WHO) performed studies on electric shock and extremely low frequency fields with the following results:  (the results are based on a selected group of cases before 1997)

  • 9 out of 73 people who have an electric work occupation got Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis - wasting away of muscle and loss of motor function.
  • Isolated cases of heart disease were associated with ELF fields.
  • No conclusive studies have been performed to prove effects on white blood cells or immune systems.
  • Some risk of miscarriage is associated with ELF fields.
  • Some studies show minor skeletal anomalies in rats and mice.
  • Few studies have been done on effects of ELF fields on reproduction and development.
  • There is some evidence that ELF fields cause childhood leukemia.
  • ELF fields affect the nervous system, memory, cognition and other brain functions.

Since the year 2000 there have been 107 scientific papers published in peer reviewed journals.  69 of those linked electro-magnetic fields to various forms of cancer, 30 were inconclusive and only 8 showed no links.
